🙏 What Is Spiritual Dryness in Christianity?
Spiritual dryness is a season when you feel disconnected from God. You may feel numb during prayer, distant while reading Scripture, or even spiritually tired. It doesn't mean you've failed — it means you need refreshing.
💧 1. Be Honest with God
When you feel dry, pray simple, raw prayers like:
“Lord, I feel far from You. Please draw me close again.”
Just like David in the Psalms, God welcomes your honesty.
📖 2. Stay in the Word (Even if It Feels Dry)
Read short, meaningful passages:
- Psalm 42 for comfort
- John 15 for connection to Jesus
- Isaiah 41 for God’s presence
Even a single verse carries power. Keep feeding your soul even in silence.
🕊️ 3. Pray Short, Simple Prayers
Don't pressure yourself to pray long. Say:
“God, help me.”
“Lord, I need You.”
Romans 8:26 reminds us the Holy Spirit helps us pray, even when we don’t have the words.
🎧 4. Let Worship Music Minister to You
Listen to soft, worship-filled music and sit in silence.
Let truth wash over your heart.
Don’t strive — just receive.
💬 5. Talk to a Sister in Christ
Sometimes healing comes through community and confession. Share how you feel with another believer — especially another woman walking the same journey.
💖 6. Give Yourself Grace
This dry season won’t last forever. God uses these moments to deepen your roots.
Even when you don’t feel it, He’s working behind the scenes.
📖 Bible Verses for Spiritual Dryness
Psalm 42:11 — “Why are you downcast, my soul?… Put your hope in God.”
Isaiah 41:10 — “Do not fear… I will strengthen you.”
John 7:38 — “Whoever believes in me… rivers of living water will flow from within them.”
"Whether you’re reading this from anywhere in the world — spiritual dryness feels the same. As Christian women, our lives are full of service, emotion, and effort — but our spirits still need to be filled by Him."
"God knows your culture, your load, and your need. He is ready to refresh you — right where you are."
If you’re feeling spiritually dry today, don’t give up. Don’t run away. God isn’t mad at you — He’s inviting you to draw closer, even through the silence. These seasons don’t last forever, and you’re not walking through it alone.
Whisper a prayer. Open your Bible. Reach for His presence.
He will meet you there.
With grace,
Mary 💛
